The Mambo Kings is a beautiful tale of musical brothers travelling from Cuba to Achieve there musical dream in America. This film delves into the myth of the American dream. It exposes it through the younger Brother, who is the songwriter, readings of American promising you by reading them you will succeed in America.

The music and the film's soundtrack is of Latin America and Cuban origin. The tempo of he music strong and vibrant with a jazzy composition. This music is then incorporated into the drama of film with music and sometimes dancing changing the atmosphere or tension of the film but is done artfully.

The storyline which I have mention above is simple and plot has many levels, meaning that you will gain something from watching it again. As you can watch the film to live the experience of the brothers or enjoy the music.

Acting is good and character development and relationship is developed and exploited to heighten the experience of the Film. The mambo kings was filmed in Cuba, Miami and Hollywood. The locations added to the drama and glamour of the film. Telling the hardships and successes of the musical duo.

Overall if you love Latin American music or tales of musical dreams then this is a film you should rent. However if you hate Latin American music or music inspired films then leave this alone.
