Tale of the Karma Sutra review Pirates of the Carribean: At World's end |
Deja Vu is a Sci-fi dective story a bit like Minority report set in new Orleans after Katrina. The movie starts very quickly with a bomb going off after a quick tour of New Orleans to set the scene. A task is set to catch the person or people responsible for this. A FBI agent starring Val Kilmer is tasked to set up a special investigation team using high-tech equipment that can look 4 days into the past. Denzel Washington is the ATF guy who is assigned to the team. He is the teams eyes and tells them what to look at and why. The character relationship between Val Kilmer's character and Denzel Washington's is like that of Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer in ToP Gun. Denzel Washington is the lead man putting most of the emotion fo film being played off by Val Kilmer who is the silent obverservant guy who helps out Denzel Washington use this new technology to his advantage. The film location greatly helps the films atsmosphere with the showing of the dock and ferry before the explosion which greatly intensifies the secne of the explosion after. It sets the scene of the movie. The contrast between the rich and poor areas of New Orleans. The maths in the movie, explaining how they managed by accident to see things in the past is correct making this movie more intelligent than it seems. Though this may be expected when jerry Buckhiemer films, king of action movies combines with intelligent films On the whole Deja Vu is an exciting intelligent action movie that is a must see who like action and suspense. |
