The amazing spiderman stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. The Amazing Spiderman is more geeky and techno than Sam Raimi Spiderman series. For example in amazing spiderman for peter parker to spin a web he had to design it himself which credits him amazing whilst Sam Raimi's spiderman genetically gets the ability to shoot webs. It is set in New York city and we seen a vast amount of it as Peter Parker swings from skyscraper to skyscraper and it is beautifully shot and rendered. The film first starts depicting the life of Peter Parker. His abandonment from his parents and having to live his uncle and aunt. His being outcast at school and having only one friend a hot girl called Gwen Stacy played by Emma stone. Those scenes are there to tell the audience that Peter Parker needs help in his life and that getting bitten by genetically enhanced spider is the right thing for him. The romance of Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy runs quite fast. There is the awkward looks in class going straight to Gwen not outing him as a intruder at a open day at Oscorp where she works. And then out of the blue invites him to dinner with her family. This I find quite odd but does not spoil the flow of the film and probably helps the film explain why Gwen is quick to help Spiderman create a vaccine to the toxin Curt Connors creates to distribute all over New York. Curt Connors played by Rhys Ifans is the bad guy of the film who turns himself into a giant lizard. Rhys turns into a lizard because as a scientist he was working on “cross-species genetics”. Where he was researching the lizards ability to regenerate limbs. When forced to shut down because he wouldn't fast track to experimentation on humans he ejects himself. He does this because Curt Connors only has one arm. The connection to Curtis Connors to Peter Parker is that Curtis Connors used to work with his father. Who disappeared along with mother when he was very young. Peter Parker stumbles on to this when he finds his father's briefcase. This is why he goes to Oscorp to find out more about his father's research which he found in the briefcase. Overall the film is exciting and enjoyable to watch. |
