Alice through the looking glass is the sequel to Alice in Wonderland. They are both based on the characters made by Lewis Carol. Alice through the looking Glass is about Alice's return to Wonderland. Where she is told by the White queen to help the Mad Hatter. Who is not quite himself. The problem is the Mad Hatter found a small hat which makes him believe his parents are still alive. Alice is then told by the White queen that she has to go back in time save his parents. Throughout that adventure she learns about some of her friends past like how there was rivalry between the White Queen and The Red Queen. It all started over tarts when they were younger. Where the White Queen ate all the tarts and left the crumbs in The Red Queen's room. The White Queen lied to their mother about it and the Red Queen stormed off and while she was doing that she fell and hit her head at the base of a statue. Her head then swells up which is why The Red Queen has such a big head. You also get to see how the Mad hatter got on with his family which was not well. His father always saw him as a disappointment. Alice returning to Wonderland can also be seen as escapism on her apart. As her lifestyle is in chaos. She returns from her travels as a captain of a ship called Wonder who narrowly escapes pirates to find her mother being bossed around in London. She has sold the deeds to the house to some one who Alice rejected his proposal of marriage and now he wants her ship. One of the reasons Alice through looking Glass is not a great film is that you never learn why they want her ship so badly. I just assumed it is money.

Acting is not very good. I never felt for characters in the film. Even when the Mad Hatter tells Alice about his predicament you do not seem to care. The Mad Hatter is played by Johnny Depp which is just another excuse to dress up and play Jack Sparrow again. Alice is played by Mia Wasikowska. When you first see her, she is on a ship and she is the captain, but you really never feel that she is capable of being in charge of a ship or know anything about sailing. Also when she encounters Time played by Sacha Baron Cohen it was a bit whimsical. You never felt the need to care about what happens to Time. So what if Alice stole your Chronosphere and that you are slowly dying and that means that Underland is in danger. Anne Hathaway's White Queen does not give us much and Helen Bonham Carter's Red Queen is still barmy. Matt Lucas Tweedlee/Tweedledum is not much used and you can say that of Stephen Fry's Cheshire Cat also, who is my favourite character from the book.

The only thing good about Alice through the looking glass is the visuals. I like how they depicted the oceans of time, it was spectacular. You could see endless ocean and inside the waves you saw key moments in time. I also like the Chronosphere which Alice use travel back in time. The Chronospere is pictured first as small circular mechanical device. It then expands to the size of person and drives like a ship and it has loads of mechanical sticks which use to drive it. The house of time was also good, I like the mechanics of the clocks situated around the building. The way Alice enters Wonderland is also quite interesting. She basically walks through glass that reacts like water.

Overall Alice Through the looking Glass can be quite boring as you fail to care about characters in the film. Even when everything is in peril.
